1. No threatening of either staff or other members allowed on this forum, nor is anything else intended to be hurtful whether it is directed at staff or other members. Swearing and foul language in general is censored but should still be kept at a minimum. Racist, cissexist, or heterosexist slurs are grounds for banning.
2. This forum is a safe space for otherkin to meet, discuss, and discover more about themselves, and so we will not tolerate users claiming that others are fake without a sufficient amount evidences. Similarly members will not make any claims such as that certain kintypes aren't real. Other than this if you behave in a way which causes three or more members to complain about your behavior the admins will do a vote about what action should be taken.
3. Be respectful of your fellow members. This includes respecting their identity, whether it be 'kin, gender, orientation, religion, or anything else.
4. Though we will allow members to mention and discuss ranks we are all equal on this forum and due to this elitist attitudes which make members feel unsafe will not be tolerated.
5. Please try to use your best grammar, spelling, and punctuation and if you have a learning disability or another reason (such as not having a computer and typing by phone) which may affect this please just notify an admin so we know. You do not need to use punctuation in the chat box. (Note: If you are robotkin or any other kintype which would mean you'd feel more comfortable typing in an alternate form such as replacing letters with numbers please message an admin and we'll talk about how to best allow you to feel comfortable while making the site friendly for those who may find it hard to read).
6. You must be at least 13 to be able to join this forum. If you are found to be any younger we will have to ask you to leave until you're of the required age.
7. Remember that members as young as 13 can join this forum. Due to this members must keep their discussions appropriate and not of a sexual nature. Keep everything PG-13. Illegal discussions are also not allowed on this forum. When talking about things such as abuse or other triggering subjects please place a warning at the top of your post or in the thread title. If you’re unsure about if you should add a warning or not please contact an admin.
8. This forum is not intended for roleplay. If you wish to roleplay please join a forum which is intended for this purpose. Trolling of any sort is also prohibited. (Note: We will never suspect you as a troll for kintype alone, that is not an issue here).
9. Members must have only one account. If you are a system please use only one account and mention on your profile that your account is a system account. If you want to change your username it can be done through your account settings, but please place your old username in your signature for at least a week afterwards to avoid confusion.
10. Please keep topics in the appropriate sections. Along similar lines please keep discussion in topics followable. For example if you're talking to someone offline don't refer to that conversation in a thread without explaining the context first.
11. Please refrain from double posting and instead use the edit function to edit your post. If you do need to double post please notify one of the admins first with your reasons so that we know. If you double post by mistake please delete the extra copies of the post. The only place this rule does not reply is in the Journal section.
12. Please do not upload any images to threads and instead use a link to the image. This is to ensure that the forum continues to run smoothly. If for some reason you must please contact an admin first and keep the image size to 500x500 pixels or under.
13. Though not required introductions are highly recommended to help you get to know new members of the community. Introductions can be made in the Welcome Tent Board under the thread titled 'Admin Nixie Here!'.
14. All meetups must be organised on the board titled 'Howls and Meetups' which can be found in 'The Cavern'. You must be at least 16 to take part in these meetups with parental consent (and at least 18 to take part without parental consent) and all members are advised to be cautious while meeting others such as meeting in a public place and taking your friend(s) or family member(s) with you. The Otherkin Haven is not responsible for anything occurs whether good or bad nor if members choose to attend who are below the required age limit as we cannot control what you choose to do off of this forum.
15. All content in this forum must stay on the forum and not be posted on any public websites unless you have the express permission of the members involved to post. If you see anyone doing this please contact an admin so that they may be banned.
16. For the safety and privacy of our members of the media are not permitted to hold user accounts on The Otherkin Haven.
17. If an account has not made any posts on the forum (discounting the Cbox) within 1 month of having been created it will be assumed to be abandoned and deleted and If an account has not been used for 4 months without the admins having been notified that the member will be away through a post on the 'I'm Leaving' thread beforehand the same action will be taking. (Please let us know when you're back in the 'I'm Back' thread)
18. No preaching. While discussing beliefs is fine you also need to accept that not everyone has the same beliefs as yours. If you'd like to discuss you need to make sure the other people you're discussing with wish to discuss their beliefs with you and that you back up the points you make.
